The platform 13 is illustrate as provided adjacent its corners with depending guide rods 18 that are fixed to the under surface of platform 13 and extend downwardly through slide hearings 19 mounted in apertures in the table 3.Guide rods 18 and slide hearings 19 cooperate with piston rod 14 in controlling the movement of platform 13 so that this platform moves up and down smoothly, freely and without vibration in use.
The dipping machine is illustrate as having front and rear walls 21 and 22 side walls 23 attached to the frame 1 thereof. Water supply piping 24, that is adapted to be connected to the city town water main (not shown), extend Horizontally through an aperture provided in a side wall of the machine. A quick operating valvc .is positioned behind front wall and is connected in pipe. Valve has a for-wardly projecting operating arm that pro-jects through a slot provided in the front wall to enable ready manual actuation of this arm by the machine operator. Arm is illustrated as connected by a chain to a rod projecting from the platform.
Within the machine, the water supply piping extends downwardly at and has a valve therein operated by a handle positioned in front of wall, the shank of handle projecting through an aperture in front wall. Near the bottom of the machine, the water supply piping again extends horizontally of the machine at and through the side wall, said piping having a discharge end connected to a suitable cutlet drain. A branch pipe connects the piping to the bottom of cylinder. A valve is connected in piping between branch pipe, and discharge end. Valve has an operating handle positioned i front of wall, the shank of the handle extending through an aperture in front wall. A pipe connects the upper end or head of cylinder with piping at a point between valve and discharge end.
In use, valve regulates the up speed of the platform, whereas the valve regulates the down speed of the platform and hence that of the coating material container. Assuming that it is desired to coat the articles suspended from the panel, the container is first filled with the coating composition such as a suit-able lacquer while the platform is in its lowest position. With the platform and container in their lowest positions, the articles are sus-pended above the surface of the coating composition. Valve is turned preferably to almost closed position and valve is opened an amount depending upon the desired up or dipping speed of the machine.
The operating arm of the quick opening valve is now depressed, thereby allowing water to flow through piping past valve, through branch pipe and into the bottom of cylinder. Hydraulic pressure thus created within cylinder causes piston to move upwardly, thereby raising piston rod and platform so that the container is raised, causing the coating material therein to gradually surround the articles as shown in Fig. When the articles are completely submerged in the coating material, the arm is raised, thereby shutting off the supply of water and permitting the water within cylinder to gradually flow out of this cylinder through branch pipe, valve and pipe discharge end.
The extent of opening of valve determines the lowering or withdrawal speed of the cotainer, and it is important that this speed should be somewhat slower than the natural speed of flow of the coating composition, or else rings or winkles will be formed on the articles. Any water leaking up past piston is conveyed by pipe to the discharge end of piping.
In practice, the up or pipping speed of the container is usually faster than the natural speed of f;ow of the coating composition while the lowering or withdrawal speed is slow than the speed of flow of the coating composition. Since valve is open somewhat at all times, the escape of a limited quantity of water through this valve while piston is rising serves to cushion any water hammer that may occur in the water supply piping so that container is raised steadily and without jarring. When chain is employed, its length will automatically determine when the container will start to descend. 浸涂机英文文献和中文翻译(2):http://www.youerw.com/fanyi/lunwen_12102.html
