4.2.3. Locating elements Locating elements form another component of UMJFS. This section describes some of these elements.
Flat keys The ¯at key is used to correctly align adjacent ®xture elements. The key dimensions are usually 12mm612mm64:5mm. However, longer keys of size 12mm618mm64:5mm are sometimes necessary for certain applications. The thickness of the key
can be varied also for those applications requiring shims between elements. Two additional thickness of 8mm and 12mm are also available. Table 5 lists the ¯at key collection.
T-keys T-keys can be ®tted into the T-slots in the base, or in support elements and the like. Because the T-slots in the base are deeper than those in some other elements, there are basically two T-key con®gurations available. The T-key for the base is known as TK-15mm, and for others as TK-9mm.
