摘要随着信息时代的飞速发展,以光纤和光波导器件为基础的光通信由于其速度快、稳定性好等优点越来越受到重视,其中单模大模场面积波导更是研究热点之一。本论文首先介绍了光波导基础理论,然后对平板波导与脊形波导的单模条件进行了理论分析,并对脊形波导单模传输时其基模的有效折射率和模场面积随着内脊高、外脊高、脊宽的变化规律进行了数值仿真,分析了三个结构参量对脊形波导单模条件的影响,并提出了脊形波导结构的优化。由于波导制作工艺的原因,脊形波导的脊形部分最后经常会形成梯形,本文也同时研究了梯形波导下脊宽对基模的有效折射率和模场面积的影响。最后,本论文简要介绍了单模大模场面积波导在激光领域的主要应用。80425

Title The Design and Application Research of Large-mode-area Single-mode Waveguide
Abstract With the rapid development of the information age, the optical communication which is based on optical fibers and optical waveguide devices has attracted more and more research attention。 Large-mode-area single-mode waveguide has become one of the most pursued research topics。 In the thesis, first, the basic theory of optical waveguides is reviewed and the single-mode condition of planar waveguides and the ridge waveguides is analyzed theoretically。 Then we simulate the effective refractive index and the mode area of the fundamental mode in the ridge waveguide for single-mode transmission when the thickness of the inner ridge and outer ridge as well as the ridge width change are varied。 The influence of these three structure parameters on the single-mode condition of ridge waveguide is also analyzed。 In addition, due to the manufacturing defects, the trapezoidal waveguide is often obtained instead of the rectangle for the ridge part。 Thus the effect of the ridge width on the fundamental mode of the effective refractive index and the mode area under the trapezoidal waveguide is also investigated。 Finally, the main applications in the laser area for the large-mode-area single-mode waveguide are briefly discussed。
