Abstract Film, as an important carrier of art and culture, has played an increasingly significant role in daily life。 The film art has brought leisure and entertainment for the majority of the audience, and gradually become the effective tool for the dissemination of culture。 This thesis is an analysis of the film Grandson from the United States, which tells the story of the Chinese shadow play artist the old Yang and his grandson Brooks。 The old Yang is the symbol of Chinese traditional culture, who worships the Monkey King, while Brooks is the representative of American culture and worships the Spiderman。 Due to cultural differences between China and America, a series of confrontation and conflicts frequently occur。 After the tortuous collision and mutual tolerance, the old Yang and Brooks eventually become best friends, turning conflicts into integration。 This thesis first mainly analyzes the cultural differences between China and the United States from three aspects: language, daily diet and values, then analyzes the possibility and inevitability of cultural integration between China and America, in order to express the theme that the ultimate cultural integration between China and America is the needs of the times。94635

1。 Introduction
Every country has its own culture。 Fundamentally, Chinese culture and American culture belong to two different types of cultures。 “Chinese culture belongs to the inland farming culture, while American culture, originated in Europe, belongs to the marine business culture。”(Shan 104) The Chinese nation has always been dependent on agriculture and has deep feelings for land。 In the days of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, China’s territory is not as broad as today, and our ancestors’ activities are generally in the Central Plains of the Yellow River Basin。 The Yellow River Basin is rich in water resources and is enough to meet people’s water needs。 What people need to do is to guard the fields and follow seasonal changes to increase agricultural production without the need for external expansion and aggression。 Therefore, Chinese culture has the feature of stability, unity and adaptation to the law of nature。
