摘 要 1934年2月19日，蒋介石在南昌行营发起了影响整个民国社会的一项改良运动——新生活运动。新生活运动以“礼义廉耻”为基本要义，以注重改造国民生活的“衣、食、住、行”为具体实施手段，以整洁、简单、朴素、清洁为衡量标准，最终达到国民生活的三化，即“生活生产化、军事化、艺术化”的最终目标。这一社会改良运动一经提出，就得到全国各地的积极响应。90295

浙江省也努力的推行了新生活运动，1934年至1935年间是浙江省乃至全国新生活运动实施的高潮期。浙江省在各个方面对新生活运动进行了实施，主要在清洁、规矩、节约、集团婚礼、服用国货、禁吸纸烟、社会救济等方面取得了较大的成效，这些方面的改良，使浙江省的面貌焕然一新，社会风气也有了一定程度的改观。浙江省采取新生活运动的实施办法，从公务员、机关团体、学校学生教职工等便于管理的阶层着手，以点带面的推行新生活运动，由这些先进团体再去带动民众逐步的渗透，已达到全国一致上下彻底的新生活运动。

新生活运动的实施使国民生活整齐、清洁、朴素、简单的同时，也存在一定的问题，它的实施并没有完全达到蒋介石预期的愿望。就浙江一省而言，当时全省大部分地区正在经受水旱灾害的折磨，人民生活在水生火热之中，对新生活运动的一些具体措施很难实施，加之当时各种因素的阻挠，使得新生活运动有了衰落的趋势。
