According to the definitions mentioned above, the author believes that the connotation of college English teachers' e-teaching capacity covers five components: the consciousness and attitude of e-teaching, the basic knowledge about e-teaching, the ability to apply the technical tools in English teaching, the capacity of English e-teaching and the ethics in the process of e-teaching。
The author thinks that the content of the consciousness and attitude of e-teaching should be pided into three points: to understand the requirements of information teaching in the state and society; to realize the importance of information technology in teaching process; to employ technology in class for the purpose of improving the professionalism and teaching efficiency。
The basic knowledge about e-teaching comprises two parts: teacher's knowledge about theories of educational technology and research methods of educational technology。
The ability to apply technical tools in English teaching plays an important role in the development of college English teachers’ e-teaching capacity。 In author’s opinion, it should include the following four competences: the capacity of using hardware devices and some certain software in teaching。 While applying software in the computer, teachers need to master the basic skills which include the skill of searching, obtaining, identifying, selecting and processing a variety of information。文献综述
