Abstract As we all know, vocabulary is one of the three elements of a language。 Without a large amount of vocabulary, effective  communication in  English is out of the question。 However, many English learners find vocabulary learning time-consuming and frustrating。 To improve  efficiency  and  memory  retention, this thesis firstly analyses the importance of learning vocabulary。 Then it enumerates some obstacles which will affect students’ efficiency of memorizing words。 Meanwhile, it offers some solutions to deal with those obstacles。 At last, the thesis comes up with some practical, interesting and efficient strategies of vocabulary learning, which would stimulate students’ imagination and their interests  in English  learning and  finally enlarge their vocabulary。85739

摘要 众所周知，词汇是语言的三要素之一。没有大量的词汇，语言沟通无从谈起。但是 许多学生认为学习词汇是件很浪费时间的事。因此，为了提高学生记忆单词的效率，本 文首先对学习词汇的重要性进行分析。同时鉴于在实际学习过程中学生们会遇到许多影 响单词记忆效率的障碍，本文总结了几种减少甚至消除以上障碍的措施。最后列举了一 些有趣的，有效的词汇学习策略，从而激发学生的学习兴趣，扩大他们的词汇量。
