The second part is the literature review, which elaborates the theory of the negative transfer of mother tongue---- language transfer and error analysis and the current studies of errors in tourism translation within China.

The third part is the core part of the thesis, which elaborates the translation errors of scenic spots in Ningbo from two perspectives----negative transfer of mother tongue in lexicon and negative transfer of mother tongue in syntax. 

The forth part discusses the causes of negative transfer of mother tongue in tourism translation. Three causes are different modes of thinking, different ways of constructing sentences and different diction habits.

The fifth part is a conclusion part.

2. Literature review

English translation can be a good way to test second language learners’ language competence, which can test whether they have highly specialized theoretical knowledge of English, whether they are proficient in expression in English and whether they have sense of cultural awareness. And English and Chinese which belongs to different language family have big differences.For example, in Chinese, people prefer to short sentences and will lay much emphasis on the meaning of sentences. In contrast, in English, people prefer to long sentences to express themselves and will pay much attention to the structures of sentences. Therefore, the various discrepancy between English and Chinese will have a negative effect on second language learners’ translation, which has been wildly acknowledged by scholars from home and aboard.
