2。1Definition of interactive teaching method
Interactive teaching is a method emphasizing the interaction among the class, and tries to let students express their ideas in front of their classmates and teachers。 In this kind of class, communication between students and teachers are becoming so important。 Teachers encourage students to participate all kinds of activities so that they can learn a lot in this process, such as the language points and the communication ability。 It’s the relationship between the sender, the receiver, and the context of situation (Wells 1981: 29, 46-7)。 It is the interaction between teacher and student and the community that speaks the language (Rivers 1997: 6)。
When being put in that kind of atmosphere, students will be more active to participate in the activities, and they can use all the skills to perform it well。 In this way, they will find it easy to express themselves and they will be more confident to speak out。 What’s more, students will naturally use authentic English expressions when communication with others or dealing with an authentic passage from the textbooks。
