It increases the students' initiative spirit, and emphasizes students' dominant position. Students complete the structural design of products, parts processing inspection, control system selection and design, control system hardware development, control system software development and assembly debugging and other aspects of the final completion of the mini CNC lathe and development in groups, so that they can be trained as the actual production engineering. They won the second prize of Chongqing pision in the national electric mouse going through a maze competition in 2010, the first prize and second prize of Chongqing pision in the fourth national college students machine creative design competition in 2010.IV. CONCLUSION The experiment segment systematic not only breaks the shortcomings, which becomes a vassal of theoretical courses, of the traditional experimental links setting with course, but also the experimental system with the guide of typical product development can organically merge theoretical knowledge into the experimental links, exercise and cultivate students' practical ability and innovation ability. The experimental system on mechanical design manufacturing and its automation major in our university, around the mini CNC lathe, are constructed. It achieves good results. The experimental system with a goal of product development in large part urges the students' hands-on, exercise students' practical ability and cultivate students' innovation ability. While the students won honors several times in the municipal and national science and technology competitions.
