INTRODUCTION
1.1 GENERAL
The Kikeh Area is located 120km northwest of the island of Labuan, offshore Sabah, East Malaysia in approximately 1300m water depth. The area is within the Murphy Sabah Oil Co., Ltd. (Murphy) and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) Block K PSC, awarded to Murphy PCSB in 1999.
The Kikeh Development consists of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO), which receives production from wells drilled from a wellhead only Dry Tree Unit, located between the Kikeh Field and the Kikeh Kecil Field. The project includes both dry tree and subsea production and water injection wells. All fluids processing occurs on the FPSO. In the future K-5 Fault Block production and water injection wells will be “piggy backed” to Kikeh South.
Water injection will be used to maintain the pressure of the reservoir. Water injection equipment will be located on the FPSO and then distributed to the DTU and subsea wells. Water injection will be required from “Day 1” of production.
Gas injection is not required for reservoir management purposes. Gas will only be re-injected to enable oil production to continue, in the event gas export is interrupted. The system will be designed to enable simultaneous gas injection and export to allow for onshore demand fluctuations.
The associated gas is exported by a 12-inch pipeline from the Kikeh area to the existing onshore gas terminal in Labuan (LGAST), a distance of approximately 138km.
TL Offshore (Sapura Acergy) has been awarded the EPCIC contract for the KGP, who has subsequently commissioned J P Kenny Wood Group Sdn Bhd (JPK) to perform the detail design.
1.2 SCOPE OF THE DOCUMENT
This report addresses the PLEM and PLEM Support Frame design for the in-place conditions and establishes the following:
• In-Place Loadings;
• PLEM structure in-place stability;
• Confirmation of primary member sizes based on in-place loading conditions;
• Loading imposed on the Suction Can foundation for design by Acergy.
This report is part of the overall PLEM design which is addressed in Ref 5. Other design aspects related to the in-place condition, as listed below, are addressed in separate reports:
• Impact and ROV intervention loadings (Ref. KIK-TLO-JPK-55-PS-RP-0008)
• Piping stress (Ref KIK-TLO-JPK-55-PS-RP-0004)
• Pipe supports (Ref. KIK-TLO-JPK-55-PS-RP-0008
• Cathodic Protection (Ref KIK-TLO-JPK-55-PS-RP-0006)
