Design general description
Polypropylene (PP) is an important varieties of thermoplastic plastic. Since the advantages of rich source of raw materials, cheap price, outstanding properties, wide purpose,etc, speed of development of polypropylene is still the fastest variety of thermoplastic plastics. Glass fiber is a good substitute for metal materials. With the rapid development of the economy of market, glass fiber has become an essential raw material for many industries. The energy crisis has reminded governments of the control of non renewable energy. China is also starting to intensify investment in wind energy. This is a big market for Chinese fiberglass enterprise. The short fiber reinforced polymer composite is a kind of material which can be processed by automatic equipment. More and more attention is paid to it, due to the easy processing, low cost and excellent mechanical properties. The design of PP reinforced with short glass fibers can make full use of their both advantages and make new type of material which has the two excellent properties, which has important significance in theory research and practical application. I believe this design will have some reference impact on glass fiber reinforced PP production enterprises.
According to the order of the design task book, this design is the annual output of 2000 tons of boards of PP reinforced with short glass fibers’ workshop process design. During writting The thesis, I access to a large number of documents to make clear the board materials and the formula, as well as the basic material such as the excellent properties of PP and short glass fibers, special detailed research and analysis for boards of PP reinforced with short glass fibers. Besides, I understand the market situation and future prospects and chose the appropriate proportion of the formula and more mature technological process, equipment, and etc, and make a more detailed description for device models, equipment structure as well as material balance in the production process. Through the investigation of the market for the design, I selected some equipment which are conducive to the extrusion molding equipment.Through the selection of the diameter of the screw, I calculated the parameter of screw and die, such as draw ratios of screw, compression ratio and the length of working part. Then I calculated the amount and the loss of the material according to the loss rate of the process flow.
Adopting the following production processes: PP resin and additives are added into the extruder to do the granulation after drying, sieving, and fixing. Short glass fibers are transported to the extrusion molding workshop with PP resin after sieving and pretreatment, material through the extruder for extrusion molding, then press polish, setting, cooling, cutting, and the final product inspection, finally got boards of PP reinforced with short glass fibers. During the period of production process, the concepts of low cost, low pollution, high performance, cyclic utilization are also taken into account to do rational design and optimization of workshop, as well as draw the process flow diagram and layout plan of production workshop.
Combining the production crafts and the products, the balance of materials and the energy has been calculated. An annual output of boards of PP reinforced with short glass fibers’ workshop process design is 2000 tons. According to the formula calculation, the demand of short glass fibers is about 4192 tons and the demand of PP is about 14076 tons. The design of the working arrangement for a year is 220 days, and 24 hours a day.
According to the design of the workshop craft on one year producing 2000 tons of boards of PP reinforced with short glass fibers, the workshop is rectangular. During the design of the workshop, the environment protections and workers’ crafts are also considered adequately. Firstly, the rectangular workshop is convenient for the general layout of the whole plant. Besides, it can save land and convenient for equipment arrangement arranging transportation and entrance.There are more walls provided to natural lighting and ventilation design. The design has left spaces for expanding production. At the same time, a lot of treatment methods are carried out, such as the supply of plant water, drainage, waste gas, waste water and waste residue.
