Title An Empirical Analysis of the Change in the Terms of Trade and its Influencing Factors in Jiangsu Province
Abstract
The fundamental motive of a country's participation in international trade is to obtain the benefits of trade and terms of trade is directly related to the profit of a country in international trade. Its essence is to reveal the distribution of benefits of a country in international trade. In international trade, the terms of trade, as an "exchange efficiency" indicators, is used to measure the size of a country's interests. In generally, it is believed that as the terms of trade improve, a country in international trade benefits more from international trade, and on the contrary, it reduces. In order to make better use of terms of trade to analyze the profitability of a country in international trade, the concept of the terms of trade has been developed to income terms of trade, the single-factor terms of trade and two-factor terms of trade from the initial terms of trade. Income terms of trade, the single elements of trade and two-factor trade are generated on the basis of the price terms of trade, so this article chose the price terms of trade as an entry point to study the influencing factors of the terms of trade in Jiangsu Province. Although many scholars made a lot of research on China's terms of trade deterioration or improvement, there are few research in terms of trade changes of Jiangsu Province. therefore, on the basis of research of many scholars on Chinese terms of trade, the article explores changes in the terms of trade in Jiangsu Province and its influencing factors, and use the data from 1990 to 2010 to do regression analysis of the influencing factors of the change in the terms of trade in Jiangsu Province. Finally, according to the conclusions of the regression model of the influencing factors, a number of measures to improve the terms of trade in Jiangsu Province is found. The development of foreign trade in Jiangsu Province pay attention to the "quality" index of the terms of trade, so Jiangsu Province will become real trading province from trade Province.
