Abstract Pride and Prejudice was written by Jane Austen in the 19th century。 At that time, women’s future could not be guaranteed without a successful marriage and the only way they can gain their social status is to marry a man who belongs to the middle or high class。 But with the rapid development of the technology and society, people’s views of marriage have changed greatly, especially the young in modern society。 However, some problems have also arisen。 Therefore, through the discussion of different marriages in Pride and Prejudice, this paper attempts to show the four main factors influencing marriage: property; love; sense and sense of hierarchy, and tries to discuss the realistic significance of view of marriage expressed in Pride and Prejudice。85656

Jane Austen, born in a town of Steventon, is a famous English novelist。 While she never attended to a formal school, she received education primarily from her father and older brothers as well as from her own widespread reading。 She died at the age of 41 and was unmarried all her life。 But we can discover her view of marriage from her works because her works mainly focus on love and marriage in the view of women。 At the same time, the language of her works is simple, humorous, witty and ironic。 源Q于W优H尔J论K文M网WwW.youeRw.com 原文+QQ75201.,8766
During her short life, she wrote many famous works, and in this era, she is still known to people all over the world for her works: such as Sense and Sensibility (1811), Pride and Prejudice (1813) and so on。 She had many other fictions, such as Lady Susan, Plan of a Novel, Poems and so on。 In the history, many great writers and novelists spoke highly of Jane Austen。 For example, Thomas Babington Macaulay once said in Edinburgh Review (January, 1814) : “ Shakespeare has had neither equal or second, but among the writers who, in the point which we have noticed, have approached nearest to the manner of the great master, we have no hesitation in placing Jane Austen, a woman of whom England is justly proud。”
