Abstract With the cultural exchange deepening between China and other countries, a large number of English films are flooding into Chinese media market, surging up a tide of movies and films。 Subtitle translation, one of the main types of film translation, is attracting more and more attention at home and abroad。 Based on Nida’s functional equivalence theory, which emphasizes both form equivalence translation and content equivalence translation, this thesis analyzes the subtitle translation of American Situation Comedy - Modern Family in different aspects。 Under the instruction of the theory, the thesis also offers translation strategies and principles in practice by applying Nida’s functional equivalence theory in translating Morden Family。 93549

摘要随着中国与世界其他国家的文化交流越来越紧密,大量的英语影片涌入中国媒体市场,掀起了一场影片潮流。字幕翻译作为影视翻译的主要形式之一,也受到了国内外越来越多的关注,成为日前翻译研究的热潮。本论文以奈达的功能对等理论为基础,根据形式对等翻译和内容对等翻译的要求,从不同的角度对美国情景喜剧《摩登家庭》的字幕翻译进行了分析。本论文还通过运用功能对等理论翻译的《摩登家庭》为例,提出了可以用于实践的一些翻译策略和准则。

Nowadays, with the fast development of globalization, cross-cultural communication is playing a more and more important role in every person’s life。 Media, as the main form of cross-cultural communication, like televisions, films, radios, computers or other audiovisual products could be reached by most of people from all parts of the world。 With the deepening of China’s policy of reform and opening up to the outside world, a large number of TV series and movies have flooded into China and become popular among our young people。 As the important channel of cross-cultural communication, TV series has found a better way to enter into Chinese market and our audience could enjoy the latest and original programs regardless of temporal and spatial limitation。 It is a good way for them to enjoy and understand other countries’ culture and life which could be shown with both sound and image。 Apart from its function of entertainment, foreign movies also offer an active and interesting way to learn another language。 论文网
