Abstract “The Tell-Tale Heart” was one of Edgar Allan Poe’s most successful short storys. It told that why the mad protagonist killed the old man and how he committed his crime. It also recorded the protagonist’s psychological activities in detail and how he answered the policemen with a natural and concerned attitude. His reactions were so perfect. However, he betrayed himself and confessed his crime to the policemen due to the noise in his ears at the end of the story.31532

This paper is going to analyze the protagonist’s psychological worlds according to Freud’s Theories about psychology analysis such as subconscious desire, personality psychology and death drive. Then based on the short story’s plot and the protagonist’s behaviors, the paper will also try to analyze Poe’s thoughts with taking Poe’s real life into consideration. In the end, the meaning of the paper is to conclude some valuable enlightenment by comparing the protagonist’s experiences and Poe’s life. We should learn to deal with the relationship between id, ego and superego and how to make id under superego’s monitor. We should learn to release the death instinct in proper ways. We should learn to face the world with a kind of balanced and healthy psychology. Do not release the desire casually. We should keep the the society’s rules in mind in order not to be punished by the world.

摘 要摘要《泄密的心》是埃德加•爱伦•坡的最成功的小说之一，它讲述的是一位疯了的人为何杀害一位带有鹰眼的老人以及他如何实施犯罪的，小说中细致地描写了这位疯人的心理活动，描写了在他杀死了老人后，他是怎样以一种自然而又关心的态度接待来访的警察，他的伪装是那么的完美，然而在故事的结尾，他却出人意料的出卖了自己，并且因为忍受不了耳中持续的噪音向警察坦白了自己的罪行。
本篇文章将会依据弗洛伊德心理分析理论中的潜意识欲望、人格心理及死亡本能来分析作品主人公的内心世界，然后基于小说的情节及主人公的行为，结合作者坡的真实的生活经历分析坡的心理。最后，本篇文章的意义在于通过比较主人公经历及坡的生活总结出一些对于我们现代人的有价值的启示，我们应学习处理自我、本我及超我之间的关系，学会如何让超我监督着自我，学习以一种合理的方式释放本能，学习以一种健康的心态面对这个世界，不要像主人公那样随意地释放自己的欲望，不顾社会的约束，变成社会惩罚的对象。
