On Tchaikovsky’s Style of His The Seasons, Op.37bis
Abstract:As one of the most brilliant composers in Russia, Tchaikovsky, Pyotr Ilich almost became the eternal keyword of the music circles all over the world. He composed a large number of important works in his life which involved in various kinds of music styles. Tchaikovsky’s piano music are mostly pertimentos formed by many bagatelles with titles. They all have obvious features of short length, simple structure and vivid music. The piano cycle The Seasons is one of the most typical works of Tchaikovsky which is composed by twelve musical compositions. The mood of the whole work is very lively , popular and easy to understand. In order to help people play musical instruments and teach others, this thesis will deeply analyze the musical style of Tchaikovsky by studying the creating background of this work and the musical form and structure of the twelve compositions.
