摘要民本思想是中国古代政治文化中极为重要的思想主张，荀子在继承孔孟民本思想的基础上，形成了自己的民本思想体系，荀子主张“君舟民水”，认为统治者应该关心爱护民众，只有民众生活安乐无忧，君王的统治地位才会稳定。荀子认为君王应当重民、爱民与富民，他认为为政者有必要勤于政事，选用贤才，减轻赋税徭役，提高民众生活水平，使民众富裕起来。荀子民本思想对当今社会来说，仍然具有比较重大的意义，我们应当研究荀子民本思想的深刻内涵，为中国特色社会zhuyi民主化建设提供借鉴。86428
