摘要：在科学技术高速发展的今天，运用计算机进行的管理系统已经发展成熟，图书管理系统被越来越多的应用到各大院校的图书管内。如今的社会已经步入信息化时代，信息化管理的普及是不可阻挡的趋势。图书管理系统的应用能够使图书管内的各种数据信息进行及时有效的处理，同时能够使图书管内各个部门的工作能够及时有效的沟通，使他们之间的合作更加紧密，从而提高图书管理的效率。自古以来图书馆就是信息资源的集散地,图书管的日常管理实际上就是对数据信息的管理。由于历史和储存的原因，很多图书管都是有几十年甚至上百年的历史的，所以管理方式都很落后，一大部分都没有应用计算机对图书进行管理。在笔者的调查中发现，这些图书管对信息管理都是对文字和表格的手工处理，在整个借书和人员管理的过程中仍然是通过人工检查借书卡的方式进行的，这就给图书管理人员带来了相当繁琐的日常工作，他们随时都要在岗位上进行处理，在工作过程中，由于数据复杂且工作量大，非常容易出错，并且查找数据非常麻烦。从总体来看，各大院校的图书管都缺乏系统且规范的管理。现在基本上所有的图书管都配备了计算机，但是计算机大多被用作是辅助工具，并没有发挥它们应有的功能，本图书管理系统的开发是相当必要的。
