摘要:LED旋转显示屏就是根据人眼的视觉暂留原理让单排的LED等在电机的带动之下高速旋转从而形成一幅完整的画面。
LED显示屏从上世纪八十年代后期出现。到目前为止,它的应用已经深入到各个行业中。但由于LED灯的体积较大,所以很难在较小的屏幕内显示出图片,这也就是本次设计要解决的主要问题。本次设计的LED旋转显示屏由Altera公司的FPGA芯片来控制,用以改善显示屏的实时性。模块由两块3X128的LED灯(分别为红绿蓝)组成的电路板构成。同时LED的驱动芯片选用DM633,它为一个16通道的恒定电流LED驱动芯片。对于数据的更新使用一个光耦(U型槽的红外对管)作为定位传感器,当旋转一周时,挡板遮挡光源,光敏三极管的集电极输出高电平,当挡板离开时时,集电极回到低电平,FPGA可以捕获到该信号从而更新显示数据。供电部分由于要用到大功率电机,但FPGA芯片都是采用为弱电供电,所以采用单独供电,同时考虑到屏幕在工作时都在高速旋转的状态,所以采用了无线供电技术。为了能够实时地更新数据,且要在电机高速旋转的条件下完成通信,因此本次设计有采用了无线Wifi通讯技术,PC即首先通过路由器发数据给Wifi,再由Wifi通过RS232协议传输给FPGA来处理。5715

LED rotating display design based on FPGA
Abstract:LED rotating display is based on the human eye's persistence of vision principle.The motor drive a single row LED rotate in high speed,thus,we can see the whole picture.
LED display was appeared from late 1980s.So far,it’s application has deep into the various industries. But due to the volume of LED lamp is larger, so it is hard to show images within the smaller area, which is the main problem the design to solve.
In order to enhance the real-time performance,the LED display is control by an Altera’s FPGA chip.The displau part is composed of two pieces of circuit board,each of them has 3 x128 LED (red, green , blue)lamp. At the same time, we select DM633 as the LED driver chip,which is a 16-channel constant current LED driver chip. For data update by an optical coupling (U type groove of infrared tube) as a positioning sensor, when rotating a week,the baffle keep out the light source, the collector if photo transistor keep high level, when the baffle go away, the collector back to low level. FPGA can receive this action and update the display data. Due to the use large power motor, but the FPGA chip is used in low voltage power supply, so we choose to the seperate power supply. Because the screen is at work in high speed rotating state, so we choose the wireless power supply technology. In order to updating data when the system is running, so this design has adopted the Wifi wireless communication technology, PC sends data to the Wifi through a router, then Wifi transmission it to the FPGA again using the RS232 protocol.
