Cooperative Principle is made up of four maxims。 The maxim of quality requires that we have said should be accurate and correct。 Meanwhile, the maxim of quantity emphasizes that we should try to say as much, and just as much as necessary in our contribution。 What’s more, the maxim of relation stresses that what we have said should be closely linked to the topic。 In addition, the maxim of manner underlines that it is necessary for us to make our contribution brief and organized and forbid using ambiguous sentences and words(Mei 2012)。
