Abstract With the development of globalization, the cross-culture exchanges between the East and the West are widespread and increasingly deepening。 Movies have become a main way of cultural exchanges。 Chinese films are gradually reaching out to the world and they are becoming more and more popular。 In recent years, Chinese films have attracted a lot of foreign audience。 As a consequence, subtitle translation is focused by more and more people。 Subtitle translation has become a newly emerging field。 In order to disseminate the extensive and profound Chinese culture and to improve the status and influence of Chinese film, it is meaningful and necessary to do a good job in Chinese film subtitle translation。 On the basis of the core theory - skopos theory and with the subtitle in the movie Chinese Zodiac directed by Jackie Chan as a research object, this paper tries to analyze the applications of skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule to the subtitle translation。 and finally prove that skopos theory helps provide a subtitle translation, which is complete, smooth and easy to understand, realizing effective communication between target language audience and films。92347

摘要随着全球化，中西方文化交流日益深入。电影成为跨文化交流的主要方式。中国电影走出国门，字幕翻译倍受关注，成为一个新兴领域。为弘扬中华文化，提升中国电影地位，做好中国电影字幕翻译意义重大。本文以目的论为理论依据，以电影《十二生肖》为例，分析了目的论三大原则在电影字幕翻译中的应用。指出目的论在电影字幕翻中译起着重要作用。

In recent years, China has more communication with other countries in politics, economy and culture。 The channels and forms of cultural communication between China and foreign countries are becoming more and more persified。 Film as a worldwide and popular art form is of great significance in this cultural communication。 Films even become an indispensable part of people’s live entertainment。 A mass of Chinese films have been exported to foreign countries。 And through these films, a lot of foreign audience learn the broad and profound Chinese culture。 They can also appreciate the eastern civilization through films (Bassnett 23)。 The international communication of films are advantageous because it not only promotes the sustainable development of film industry, but also deepens the cultural exchange among countries。 As a consequence, film subtitle translation is confronted with an tremendous challenge。
