Abstract Vocabulary teaching is an important part of English teaching, and it is also the focus of English teaching at the stage of secondary education。 However, during the teaching in Suyu Experimental Junior Middle School, the author found the following problems。 Students lack interest in learning vocabulary, and they even hate dictation English words。 With the methods of questionnaire and classroom observation, the author found causes of the problem: the rural middle school teachers’ teaching concepts and methods are out of date, students do not understand the vocabulary learning strategies and they spent less time on memorizing words。 Based on the findings above, the author puts forward some methods to solve the problem。 Introduce some vocabulary learning strategies in the English classroom and change teaching methods to improve students’ interest in English learning。 With the study, I hope to provide some reference for future researchers and rural junior middle school English teachers。93879

摘要词汇教学是英语教学的重要组成部分,更是中学教育阶段英语教学的重点。然而作者在宿豫区实验初级中学实习教学期间发现:学生缺乏词汇学习的兴趣,甚至讨厌默写英语单词。通过问卷调查、课堂观摩等方法,作者发现造成问题的原因在于:乡镇中学教师教学观念及方法陈旧、学生不懂词汇学习的策略、学生课外用于词汇学习的时间过少等。基于以上调查结果,作者提出了一些解决问题的方法:在英语课堂上介入词汇学习策略、改变教学方法以提高学生的学习兴趣等,希望为今后的研究者和乡镇初中英语教师提供一些参考。

China government adopted open and reform policy since 1980, especially after China joined the WTO。 English attracts more people’s attention as an International communication method。 For many reasons, China pays more attention to English which applied in education。 But the fact is the English level of rural junior middle school students is lower and they can’t accept the English classes with total English。 The more they have learned, the more they are behind。 All these facts proved they don’t find a proper and correct way to learn English。
With the younger-age trend of English learning, most of junior middle schools even kindergarten open English courses for students。 But there are few researches on vocabulary teaching methods on rural junior middle English learning。 Teachers should adopt vocabulary teaching methods different from adults’ based on the students’ physical and psychotic characteristics。 Therefore, the main aims of the current study are the proper teaching methods which can avoid the obstacle between teachers and students and in which way students’ English learning interests can be improved。 Based on the author’s research, teachers should relate the existing problems during the process of teaching vocabulary。 According to observation and investigation, the author will come up with some suggestions on vocabulary teaching methods which may reach a better effect in English classes。
