It is universally considered that a teacher’s teaching competence is a significant factor which can determine the effect of teaching。 However, “teachers’ capacity to control the class is limited。” (Dong 42) “It is reported that a teacher can only pay great attention to at most 25 students at the same time, or the class will be out of control。 If a teacher focuses on the teaching, the number of students will be smaller。”(Yang 140) But now, the number of students in large-scale class is beyond a teacher’s management, causing teachers’ body and mind tired。 What’s more, students often talk, sleep and read extra books in class, which is hard for teachers to manage the class。 Thus, it is obvious that large-scale class teaching model has difficulty in satisfying the requirements of students while small-sized class teaching model emerges as the times requires。
