    摘 要阅读是英语学习的四项基本技能之一,是获取信息的最重要途径,也是学生获取、理解和吸收语言信息最重要的手段。阅读策略是阅读者在阅读活动中进行有效阅读或解决阅读问题而采取的方式,技巧或行为。对于中学生来讲,拥有一定水平的阅读能力,了解和掌握必要的阅读策略并能运用适当的策略提高其阅读水平对其以后的学习和生活大有裨益。提高中学生的英语阅读能力是中学英语教学的重难点。根据阅读理论和当前中学生在英语学习和阅读中存在的问题,本文通过定量研究和定性研究的方法对一些适用于中学生的阅读策略进行探析,旨在培养和提高中学生的英语阅读能力,并且为其以后的英语学习和生活打下坚实的基础。35653

    Abstract  Reading is one of the four basic skills of English learning. It is not only the most important way to obtain information, but also the most important means for students to obtain, understand and absorb language information. Reading strategies are the ways, skills or behaviors used by the readers to have effective reading or to solve some reading problems. For middle school students, it will be of great help for their future study and life if they have a certain level of reading ability, understanding and grasping some necessary reading strategies and being able to use the strategies appropriately to improve their reading level. Improving the English reading ability of middle school students is the important and difficult point of English teaching. Through quantitative approach and qualitative approach this paper makes an analysis of some reading strategies which are suitable for middle school students in accordance with the English reading theories and the problems existing in the middle school students in English learning and reading. The aim of it is to cultivate and improve middle school students’ English reading ability and lay a solid foundation for their future English study and life.

    I. Introduction
        As we all know, as a worldwide language, English has been getting more and more important in the world. No matter what we do or where we go, we always have to use English. It is very important and necessary for us to learn English well. “Reading is an essential skill for English as second / foreign language students and for many reading is the most important skill to master” (Anderson 57). The primary purpose of English learning is to develop the ability of using appropriate language to communicate and connect with others. English reading has always been considered to be one of the most important parts of foreign language learning. It is a main way to gain information and a basic skill for a foreign language learner. Without reading, listening, speaking, writing and translation will be based on nothing. Reading, as a means of understanding and absorbing written information, plays an important role in English learning, especially in college entrance examination in recent years. In middle school course, English has already been an indispensable subject. In other words, English reading is a key procedure of English learning and teaching in middle school and an essential way of getting information from the globe and communicating with others. Besides, for most people reading is the main means to gain knowledge and the importance of it has already been widely accepted by us. Also, it has been regarded as the most significant foreign language skill in most countries’ teaching syllabus of colleges and middle schools which requires the learners to master it badly. The requirements on reading teaching are increasingly enhanced.
