A Brief Study on the Translation of English Slang into Chinese Abstract With the deep integration of global economy, politics and culture, links between all the nations are becoming ever closer. As the most widely used language in the whole world, English is a medium of communication in many international situations. English slang as an important part of English, has been accepted by more and more people and is widely used because of its popularization, humor and vividness. It plays an important role in people’s daily life. At the same time, the translation of English slang also becomes a big challenge to translators. Although translators go out of their way to keep the original translation of English slang in various ways, there are still some translations which cannot satisfy people. This thesis will study different translations and compare with each other in depth and absorb some excellent views in some periodicals. First this paper will propose a new definition of English slang and its characteristics and formation. Then this paper will summarize some common problems which exist in the translation of English slang into Chinese. Next, this paper will put forward some principles which should be used in the translation against those common problems. At last, this paper will propose some possible strategies which can be used in the translation of English slang.48325

浅析英语俚语的汉译 摘要随着全球经济、政治和文化的不断深度一体化，世界各国之间的联系也越来越紧密。英语作为全世界最广泛使用的第二语言，在众多的国际场合中充当着沟通的媒介。作为英语的重要组成部分，英语俚语因其通俗易懂，幽默风趣，形象生动，已经为越来越多的人接受并且得到了广泛使用，在人们的日常生活中也发挥着越来越重要的作用。但是与此同时，英语俚语的翻译也翻译家们面临的一个严峻的考验。在现阶段的俚语翻译中，尽管翻译家们绞尽脑汁想尽量保持译文的原汁原，但是仍然存在许多不尽人意的地方。于是本文在比较了一些优秀译文之后，以及在理解了一些期刊中的优秀论点的基础上，首先提出了一个全新的英语俚语定义，及其成型和特点，然后总结出一些在英语俚语翻译中存在的普遍问题，并提出针对性的解决原则以及解决策略，最后就是本文对于英语俚语翻译的意义。
