Although there are so many available studies on this work, few focus on the conflict between reality and illusion from the viewpoint of psychoanalytic feminism. Freud is the representative, who puts up the psychoanalytic theories. He holds the view that gender is not biological but is based on the psycho-sexual development of the inpidual and gender inequality is related to early childhood experiences, which make women believe they are feminine. If conflicts exist between the conscious and unconscious, they will materialize in the form of mental or emotional disturbances. Neurosis, anxiety and depression are the typical, which can be shown in the behaviors of Blanche. Therefore, the great work still has a lot to be explored in this aspect.
