1.2 Literature Review

Foreign scholars interpret this short story as follows。

First of all, Goncalves (2012) supposes that the pet in Alice Munro’s “Runaway” plays the role of promoting the plot and thus proposes a method named anthropocentrism perspective, which is based on the perspective of nonhuman and relates to the opposite point of view。 In addition, by non closed spiral circulation motion through the senses, the plot causes the climax, and matches Derrida's poetic ideas, which contains a continuous, never ending process。

Secondly, Bahador and Zohdi (2015) think the short story contain philosophy thoughts containing Freud’s theory of subconscious and dream interpretation connecting and the symbolic discussion, ego and superego thoughts based on the main characters of the paper, among which, the unconscious of the role of women is embodied in the drive and desire when she is repressed and at that time, dream subconscious is regarded as heart mirror。

Thirdly, Bahador and zohdi (2015) also believe that the core of “Runaway” is the philosophy of psychology, the source of which comes from Julia Kristeva, a famous contemporary philosopher, revealing the role of the object plays in the development of the characters。 Munro's short story tells the indispensably tragic part of the evolution of the main characters。文献综述

Chinese scholars also have done many researches about this short story。

Firstly, Li Wenjun (2009) believes that the image of the goat Flora goes through the whole story and with Carla's emotional and psychological changes, the two are intertwined, and complementing each other。 Xiong Wangmei (2014) also believes that each stage mentioned in the article the goat Flora experiences-- appearance, disappearance, return and death, is closely connecting with life experiences and emotional changes of the heroine Carla。 The natural intimacy and dramatic interdependence between Carla and Flora is what eco feminist critics focus on when they study the story, that is to say, the strong identity recognition of empathy and sympathy consciousness between women and nature comes from the similar condition they lie in the modern human centered, patriarchal society。 First, the two have similar story。 Before come to Clark's side, they are lonely and vulnerable inpidual: Flora is taken home by Clark after abandoned by farmers and meanwhile, Carla is taken home by Clark after fleeing from the original home。

Secondly, Yang Junguang and Ma Yanfeng (2015) think to some extend, there is no difference between Carla's active escape and Flora’s being abandoned, because Carla have always been cold shouldered by her mother and stepfather in her original family, which leads her beginning to hate everything at home。 Similarly, Flora was brought home after being abandoned, but it is only regarded as a tool。 Clark bought it is "because I heard in the barn raising goats can play a role of comforting horses"。 Initially Flora and Clark are getting along with each other, but when Flora grows up, the goats and Cara are becoming closer because of the natural intimacy between animals and women。 This change also corresponds to Carla’s emotional changes to Clark。 The couple’s marriage life in the beginning is not without happiness at all。  They will be singing while driving。 But this happiness does not last for a long time, because soon the play is regarded as a waste of time and money。 Carla also begins to work as a man to earn money。

Thirdly, Chen Feng (2010) supposes that Carla does not flinch when she flees from her original home for the first time, which indicates that she does have independent consciousness before marrying Clark。 At that time, she dares to give up what she does not want, and reposes the better vision of new, free and happy life on the Clark。 There are many females in puberty like Carla who are not satisfied with their life, and dare to get rid of the familiar environment and call the shots for their own future。 But three years of marriage life slowly kills Carla's consciousness of independence, and virtually contributes to Clark's idea of man's right。 来*自-优=尔,论:文+网www.youerw.com
