久石让，其原名为藤泽守，1950年出生于日本自然环境优美的中野市，从小学习钢琴，深受古典音乐的影响，又兼有流行音乐的影子，毕业于国立音乐大学作曲系。他是新世纪音乐代表人物之一，也是著名的作曲家和钢琴家。据说，“久石让”这个享誉国际的名字来源于一个负有盛名的美国黑人音乐家--昆西•琼斯，他名字的日语发音与相似的汉字姓名结合，即为“久石让”。
