The purpose of Error Analysis is to analyze and research the errors in the progress of second language acquisition。 Find the strategies they used and the causes of these errors, and know their common learning difficult, and help them correct the errors and form a feasible learning method。文献综述
3。2。3 Procedures of Error Analysis
According to Coder’s (1975) five steps in EA there are 5 steps of the research procedures:
(1) Collect language samples of learner: The first step in EA is to decide what kind of language materials we are going to analyze and how to collect the data。
(2) Identify the errors: Coder (1971) differed error and mistake。 Error is caused by the lack of learners’ language competence whereas mistake is produced by psychology factor, such as stress, excitement or poor memory。 To sum up, since the causes of errors are complicated, so it’s not easy to identify and define the errors。
(3) Classify the errors: errors made by language learners are classified based on different criteria。
(4) Explain the causes of the errors: before explaining the errors, we should figure out the source of the errors。
(5) Assess the errors: assess the seriousness of each error and proposal the major principle。
3。2。4 Classifications of Error
The classifications of errors lack a unified standard。 Different linguists put forward with different standard for error classification。
