摘要液晶是一种介于固态和液态之间的新物态,利用其电光效应可制成各类显示器。由于液晶显示器具有重量轻、能耗低、辐射小等优势,在信息显示领域逐步取代了传统显示器件。液晶显示技术的研究对于进一步提升液晶显示技术的优势和推广应用具有积极意义,而液晶关键性能参数的测定对于液晶显示器的优化设计具有重要价值。65270
在此,我们以TN型液晶模式为例,详细阐述了液晶显示的工作原理及其独特优势,重点介绍了其电光响应曲线、阈值电压、响应时间等这些影响液晶显示器显示性能的主要参数的概念及其测定方法并进行了实验测量。结果显示所测液晶的阈值电压为1.15V,关断电压为1.76V,上升时间为78.0ms,下降时间为50.8ms,总响应时间为128.8ms。
最后简要的介绍了一些新型液晶显示器,并对柔性液晶显示及3D显示的发展和具体应用作了简要介绍和总结。

Title Experimental study of the electro-optic effect of liquid crystal
Abstract
Liquid crystal is a new state of matter, lying between solid state and liquid state. Its electro-optic effect can be utilized to make various displayers. Because LCD displayers have the merits such as light weight, low power consumption, low radiation level and so on, they have gradually taken the place of traditional displayers in the information displaying field. The research of LCD is of great significance for improving the LCD displaying performance and their broad applications.
In this paper, taking TN LCD as an example, we explain the working principle of LCD and its advantages. The focus is on the explanation of the characteristic parameters determining the performance of a LCD displayer, such as electro-optic response curve, threshold voltage and response time and we carry out the corresponding measurements. The results show that the threshold voltage of the measured liquid crystal is 1.15V,the turn off voltage is 1.76V, the rising time is 78.0 ms and the falling time is 50.8ms, the total response time is 128.8ms.
In the end, a brief summary is given to some new LCD displayers, including flexible LCD displayers and 3D displayers.
