湖州市经过几十年的旅游资源开发，旅游业取得了很大的发展，但同时也存在着很多问题，影响旅游资源和旅游业的可持续发展，本文以湖州市旅游资源为研究对象，介绍了湖州市旅游资源的基本情况，分析湖州市旅游资源与旅游业发展的优势、劣势、挑战和机遇，来改善旅游资源开发，促进可持续发展。这些研究可以为旅游相关企业，政府决策提供理论依据，具有很强的现实意义。
