摘要近几十年来,随着我国综合实力、国际地位和国际影响力的不断提升,国内发生的一切日益受到国际社会的密切关注。与此同时,作为对外宣传我国基本国情的主要阵地,外宣翻译研究也更加突出了其重要性和紧迫性。就翻译活动本身而言,它与传播学有着共同的本质,即信息的处理和交流。而外宣,作为一种宣传活动,显然也具有传播学的特性。因此本文以传播学5W(WHO, SAYS WHAT, IN WHICH CHANNEL, TO WHOM, WITH WHAT EFFECT)模式为依托,对《谈治国理政》一书的英文译本进行研究。经过大量的阅读,作者总结了本书中比较突出的四种外宣文本特征,包括使用数字缩略语,引用古典文学和习语,以及一些中国特色的政治外宣表达,并通过这四种文本特征来分析翻译技巧和有效传播要素之间的关系。研究发现,外宣翻译如同传播过程一样,为了实现良好的传播效果,译者选择使用不同的翻译技巧都是为了满足影响传播效果的几个因素,包括原作者、原文和受众。87705

Title A Probe into C-E Translation Strategies for International Publicity Based on the 5W Model in Communication Studies
Abstract During the past few decades, China has attracted growing attention from the global community as it rapidly advances in its overall strength and international standing。 That said, C-E translation of publicity plays an increasingly important role in introducing China to the outside。 Therefore, the significance and urgency of a comprehensive and systematic study on international publicity translation is self-evident。 It is already recognized that translation and communication share the same nature of the dissemination and exchange of information。 With communication as its ultimate purpose, the publicity activity can also find a solid foundation and strong support in communication studies。 Hence, based on the 5W (WHO, SAYS WHAT, IN WHICH CHANNEL, TO WHOM, WITH WHAT EFFECT) model in communication studies, this thesis studies C-E translation of the book, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China。 Based on an extensive reading of this book, the author summarizes four outstanding features of publicity text, including the use of digital abbreviation, citing Chinese classic literature and idiom as well as some political texts with strong Chinese characteristics。 This thesis analyses the relation between translation strategies and communication elements embodied in the four characteristic international publicity texts。 The result of the study finds that in international publicity translation, various translation strategies are all used to meet different communication elements in the 5W model, including the author, original text, target audience, so as to achieve an effective communication。
