What’s more, the reform and development of modern education is a powerful catalyst for English teaching, it does not allow English teaching keeping the same, but prompts constantly updated progress。 The teaching pattern of traditional English teaching is too inflexible, not suitable for education reform and the present situation of students' development。 This suggests that the primary school English teaching needs to put emphasis on practical, applicable and new teaching method。
And besides, as we all know that China has been calling for national-wide reading。 According to the survey, the per capita amount of reading is lower than developed countries’。 In 2014, the number of paper books reading of national per capita is about 4。56, America7, Japan 8 and Korea 11。 So generally speaking, it has some gaps between our country and the developed countries。
And therefore, the author studies the application of Story Teaching Method in the primary school, and hopes this method can help students develop the interest in reading English books and develop their deep love for reading。
Any kind of method is not perfect and needs to be improved more or less。 The author hopes that this method can be applied in class more effectively。 At the same time, the author hopes that the study can give some help for the teaching in primary school。
1。2 Purpose and Significance of Study
