    English as a global language, has become a subject we all have to learn。 Although Chinese students have studied English for more than ten years, the effect is not obvious。 We are still short of proficient English talents。 Worse still, most of us are poor in practical ability。 And that’s why many of us have difficulties communicating with others。 This kind of situation is worth our reflection。

    Under the wave of new curriculum reform, teaching model has been changed from traditional teaching to modern teaching。 More and more modern educational technology, especially multimedia technology, is widely used in English class。 Multimedia course ware has become an indispensable tool for primary school English teachers 。 It can combine with text, picture and sound。 It’s more vivid and lively, and it can attract attention of students and create a good learning atmosphere。 

Multimedia course ware in primary school teaching is mainly about PPT。 PPT is the abbreviation of Power Point。 Power Point is a graphical presentation program and a powerful presentation software。 With the help of PPT, teachers can update the content on PPT in a more timely and convenient way, and give the students more knowledge about the key points。

It is a long history of the research of multimedia teaching and learning abroad, especially in the United States。Taylor (1980) expressed that computer assisted language learning programs can be wonderful stimuli for second language learning。 Cheng-Chieh Lai & William Allan Kritsonis (2006) pointed out that research findings indicate that the use of computer has a positive effect on the achievement levels of second language learners, but it still has its limitations and weaknesses, such as financial, isolated, and knowledge required issues。 文献综述

In our country,even though it begins a little late (1980s), it develops quickly。 As mentioned previously, nearly every school and university applies this modern teaching and learning model—teaching and learning with multimedia, and the related researches are naturally followed。 

Multimedia assisted instruction has been supported by the national education department, which has promoted the healthy development of the acquaintance。 It is believed that the multimedia assisted instruction in China's education sector is facing a most favorable stage。
