摘 要影响中学英语学习的因素有外在因素与内在因素、环境因素与个性因素之分。其中,个性因素是中学生英语学习的内在动因,对其的关注与研究尤为重要。一般认为,中学英语学习中的个性因素主要涉及对如何学习英语所持的看法和观点、年龄因素、认知风格、学习动机等多个方面。本文在现代教学理论指导下,借助实际案例对个性因素在中学英语学习中的作用进行分析,得出,只有在英语学习过程中充分尊重学生主体的个性差异,才能真正做到了解学生,因材施教,最大限度地调动中学生英语学习的积极性。29243

Abstract The factors, which have an effect on middle school English learning, are pided into extrinsic factors, intrinsic factors, environmental factors and personality factors. Among them, personality factors are the intrinsic motivation for middle school students' English learning, so the concern and research on them are very significant. It is generally accepted that personality factors in middle school English learning mainly relate to the views and opinions on how to learn English, age, cognitive style, academic motivation and so on. Based on modern teaching theory, this paper uses actual cases to analyze the role of personality factors in middle school English learning, and then points out that only when we fully respect the inpidual differences between different learners, can we really make sure to understand students, teach students in accordance with their aptitude, and maximize their enthusiasm of English learning.

I. Introduction
The factors, which have an effect on middle school English learning, are pided into extrinsic factors, intrinsic factors, environmental factors and personality factors, such as the deployment and implementation of school English teaching, the English learning atmosphere and its conscious cultivation in home education, the general mood of English learning formed in historical culture and social environment, the learners’ interest in English learning, the differences of English learning ability between different inpiduals and so on. These complicated and interacting factors require that we must take learners, society, and the interaction between them and other factors into full account. Among them, the concern and research on personality factors, the intrinsic factors, are significant.
In addition, the traditional foreign language teaching is not suited to the trend of the times, due to its backward and imperfection. In the situation of current foreign language teaching, the advanced teaching concepts require the education to change the teacher-centered teaching model into student-centered teaching model, which means to carry out the teaching work from students’ position and point of view (Tarone & George). Only when we take the students as the center, fully consider the inpidual differences of different learners and the personality factors’ role in middle school English learning, and carry out investigation and study on them, can we really make sure to understand students, teach students in accordance with their aptitude, and maximize the enthusiasm of English learning.
