摘 要学习动机是影响学生英语学习的一个重要因素。本文通过问卷调查的方法,调查了高中生的英语学习动机及其影响因素。结果发现,比起融入型动机,高中生的英语学习动机更多倾向于为工具型动机;男生的英语学习动机更多为工具型动机,而女生的英语学习动机更多为融入型动机。英语学习动机的影响因素主要有家庭环境,课堂环境以及学校管理机制。最后,作者提出了一些提高高中生英语学习动机的有效策略。了解提高高中生英语学习动机的策略能更好的激励学生,提高学生的英语学习效率。80205

Abstract Motivation is an important factor in the success of students’ language learning。 The aim of this paper is to investigate the high school students’ motivations of English learning and the influential factors。 The study has shown that, compared with integrative motivation, students have a stronger tendency towards the instrumental motivation。 Girls are more integrative motivated, on the contrary, boys are more instrumental motivated in terms of gender。 Students’ motivation may be dependent on three factors: home environment; classroom environment; the school management。 In the end, the writer demonstrates some effective strategies to increase the motivation。 Knowing the strategies to promote high school students’ motivation can stimulate students in a better way。 Moreover, it will improve the efficiency of their English study。

An Analysis of Motivation and the Influential Factors of English Learning in High School

I。 Introduction 

Students’ learning is partly influenced by a subjective factor: Motivation。 An American linguist Spolsky mentioned that motivation consists of the effort, the longing to make the learning aim come true and the suitable attitudes toward the language learning。 People can get success if they have this hind of motivation in language learning (3)。 One of the most important elements that hamper English learning of Chinese high school students is the shortage of motivation。
