1 Introduction
Culture is a sum of material wealth and spiritual wealth which is created by human during the development of social history.
Costume is an applied science. However, few people will want to do research of its culture essence. Scholars usually explore the culture essence of fine art such as painting, while the costume culture is only taken as a common culture phenomenon to describe. In fact, costume can reflect the cultural phenomenon of the spirit of the time more directly and clearly than fine art. It is necessary to clear the essence of costume culture in theory. Thus we can predict the development trend of costume, direct the creative practice of costume, adjust the production mechanism of costume, lead the consuming behavior of costume and promote the development of clothing economy. It has important implications for improving the costume culture position in the history of human culture and promoting the progress of human culture.
With the increasingly frequent association between people and countries, the cultural communication and collision between the east and the west, it makes the costume around the world fuse and develop constantly. However, the costume plays an important role. Costume is the special fruits of labor for human. It not only is the crystallization of material civilization, but also has the meaning of spiritual civilization. Costume culture is a cultural phenomenon unique to human beings. As it has different aesthetic ideas, different dressing concepts and different dress etiquette in China and west, it forms Chinese and western dress culture of the different connotations and characteristics.
2. Theoretical review: Essence of Costume Culture
When reflecting on problems in clothing, you will find costume phenomenon of people is a colorful wide world. The fig leaf of Adam and Eve caused the existing of costume mythically. Costume developed from naked to today's senior clothing. It reflects the real history of human civilization in terms of the evolution. We can do analyses and research from the macroscopic angle of human development. Costume is one of the carriers of human culture and it is an important part of culture. We can understand the essence of the costume culture from the following several aspects.
2.1 Class Feature Costume
Costume, which is the "feature" of differing human from other animals, is the basic demand and product of human life activities. In this sense, costume is "people clothing". Costume is a unique cultural phenomenon to humans. Costume problem is also people's problem. If they left the people, there would be no clothes. Out of the clothing, the person is also out of the person's social attribute, reduction for animals. Human accidentally put on a piece of stone and animals’ bones and paint blood hang on the body when they were in the labor. Then it was endowed with a certain aesthetic value. Thus the original costume existed. The birth and development of human is the only premise and basis of costume generation and development.
Costume culture can have today's glories due to human’s nature transformation and self-improvement. On the one hand, human withstands natural disasters with costumes to self-protect. On the other hand, the categories of human are identified by costume. Whether we like it or not, people cannot get rid of the influence of costume for ourselves. Moreover, with the progress of social civilization, the impact will be more and more profound.
