    摘要本文依据霍夫斯泰德文化文度理论,以《摩登家庭》和《家有儿女》台词文本为语料,采用比较研究方法对这两部中美家庭剧中的亲子对话进行对比分析,从权利距离、个人主义和集体主义以及长期取向和短期取向三个方面探讨中美两国在教育观上产生差异的原因,并从中找出两部剧在家庭教育观上的差异。同时,本文试图突破文化差异的限制,探讨更加有利于子女家庭教育的教育方式,综合中美两国文化在家庭教育上的精髓,促进家庭教育的发展。32282

    Title A Comparative Study of Sino-American Family Education conceptfrom the Perspective of Cultural Dimensions—Taking Modern Familyand Home with Kids as Examples
    Abstract Based on Hofstede’s cultural dimensions, taking the dialogue script of American play ModernFamily and Chinese play Home with Kids as materials, this paper resorts to comparative studyto compare and analyze the discourse between parents and children. Furthermore, it discussesthe reasons that cause the difference in family education concept from the perspectives ofPower Distance, Inpidualism-Collectivism and Long-term Orientation and Short-termOrientation. Meanwhile, this paper tries to break through the limitations of culture differenceand search for better educational ways in family education. Besides, the paper advocates thatthe strong points of American and Chinese family education should be integrated to promote thedevelopment of family education..

    1 Introduction
    1.1 The Purpose of the ThesisThe development of globalization has not only brought the economic prosperity but also thecommunication and collision of global culture. Since the early nineteens, some western scholars hasstudied the phenomena of culture difference. However, due to the restriction of samples andhorizons, no systematic theories have been formed. Until Hofstede published his book Cultures andOrganizations: Software of the Mind in 1991, the research of culture difference got into a new stage.China has implemented reform and opening policies in the 1980s, which has increased people’sinterests in western culture. Many Chinese scholars has written papers discussing the culturedifferences between America and China, mainly about life style, ideology and family educationconcept. Education is always the hot topic among Chinese. That is why Tiger Mom has been putunder spotlight in both America and China. As is known, Chinese school education has beenexploring reforms to provide a better educational environment, while family education growsrelatively slow. So based on cultural dimensions, this paper discusses the differences of familyeducation between America and China by analyzing Modern Family and Home with Kids.Specifically, the purposes of this paper are as follows:Firstly, it makes a comparison between Chinese and American family education by studying thetranscription under the frame of cultural dimension.Secondly, it figures out how the difference and then illustrates how the cultural backgroundaffects education concepts.Thirdly, it centers on drawing people’s attention to family education. Chinese and Americanhave very different views on children education. This paper wants to find out better ways to raise upand educate children in family.
