摘要我们生活在丰富多彩的世界里，艳丽的色彩为我们的生活增添了无穷的乐趣。色彩词也是人类语言的重要组成部分，在人们日常交流中表现出独特的魅力。颜色词除各自具有与现实中的颜色相对应的指称意义之外，还具有丰富的联想意义、象征意义和感情色彩。因此，在翻译汉语色彩词时，应充分考虑到它们在汉语语言文化中的特殊内涵，并对其文化特色进行恰当的处理，以求在翻译中尽可能的避免其蕴含意义的失真。论文主要分析探讨汉语中优尔大基本色彩词的文化内涵，以及他们在英语中所包含的文化特征，并概括总结了汉语颜色词英译时常用的策略和技巧。希望能有助于增强人们的翻译实践能力和跨文化交际能力。39740

Abstract Humans live in a colorful world. The plentiful showy colors make our life much more beautiful and interesting. The color words play an important role in human language. And they show the special charms in people’s daily communication.Therefore, it is necessary and important to take their cultural connotations into consideration when translate the Chinese color words into English.What’s more, in order to avoid mistranslating as much as possible, we had better apply some strategies when translating.
The paper choose the six basic color words to study and analysis their cultural connotations in Chinese and their correspond cultural characteristics in English.In addition, the thesis also summarize some strategies and skills of their English translation, which can help us to develop the ability of translation and communication.

I. Introduction
“People live in a colorful world, and words denoting colors from part of the nuclear vocabulary in almost every language”. Color words is a part of human language, they make the daily communication interesting and wonderful. What’s more, color words in addition to their respective real colors for demonstrative meaning, but also has the rich associative meaning, symbolic meaning and emotional colors. “Some primary words about colors differ greatly in meanings due to psychological reason, historic background, the conventional customs and to various customs and habits of language expressions”. Color words in different countries have different specific meaning. So, it is vitally important to take the cultural connotations into account when deal with this kind of words.
With the development of science and technology, especially the development of information technology, the global communication is frequently occurs. As the most important human communication instrument, the effects of language more and more becomevisible.Color words plays an important part in human language.On account of the rich cultural connotation of color words, they are more and more important in communication. However, due to the different cultural background, economic religion, manners and customs , there are also differences as well as similarities of color words between Chinese and English. In the context of this, it is really difficult to comprehension and application the color words correctly in cultural communication. Therefore, analyse the similarities and differences of these color words and understand their cultural information accurately have important significance to correct understanding and using these words to express emotions and to help people come from different cultural backgrounds have a better communication.This paper will expound this proposition from cross-cultural point of view, and formulate four strategies.
