摘随着经济的全球化及社会的信息化,作为唯一一门世界通用语,英语的使用范围愈加广泛,人们也更加重视英语的学习。其中英语阅读作为英语学习的一部分,很是受人们重视。而初中阶段是培养学生阅读技能的初始阶段与黄金阶段。国内外许多学者曾致力于研究如何提高初中生的阅读能力这一方面。而本文旨在前人研究的基础上具体分析了初中生在阅读中所遇到的障碍及造成这些障碍的原因,并提出了一些解决对策。希望本文能对初中生的英语学习有所帮助。18949

Abstract With the globalization of economy and the informatization of society, English, as the only global language, is being used frequently. Naturally, people tend to give more and more attention to the learning of English. Reading which takes a large percentage of the learning of English gets no less attention at the same time. As we all know, the junior middle school students are at the beginning stage and golden stage to improve their reading skills. So many scholars at home and abroad focus on researching how to help junior middle school students to improve their reading ability. This paper mainly aims to analyze the obstacles the junior middle school students may encounter in their reading process, and how these obstacles come into being and propose some countermeasures to solve these problems. This paper is expected to be helpful to English learning for junior middle school students.

I. Introduction
Throughout the history, people are fascinated by the power of language. They look around, and find they greatly depend on languages to communicate thoughts and ways of life with others. They look back, and find they can only trace back as far as the languages have been recorded. They look forward, and find they can only anticipate the future by way of language. Language is so powerful as to capture the breath of human thought. Language plays an important role in communication. Many languages are used at present. But as is well-known, most of the countries in the world take English as their native language and English is the international common language. English is learned by more and more people. With the largest population in the world and the increasingly development of economy, China become a country with a large amount of people studying English as a foreign language. In the process of China’s current social development and economic construction, the requirement of citizens’ foreign language level is demanded much higher. Meanwhile, the junior middle school foreign language education has multiple human and social significances. Obviously, English learning is the primary language of junior school foreign language education except Chinese learning. At the same time, reading is a significant means and content of English learning. Reading can help learners not only understand the language knowledge but also gain a large amount of information. Reading is also the significant way to improve learners’ other language skills and communicative competence. Reading comprehension takes up a large proportion whether in the national senior high school entrance examination and college entrance examination or the language testing at home and abroad. This means reading proficiency is one of the main aspects to examine the learner’s language competence. However, today’s English reading situation of junior school students is not as good as people imagine. There are lots of problems existing in English reading both in teaching strategies and the attitude of the students. So far, many researches have been done about the English reading situation of senior school students and college students, but there are few studies have been done about junior middle school students. So, this paper mainly talks about the obstacles of English reading in junior middle school students and tries to find the strategies to solve these problems.
