    摘要焦虑是英语学习者最重要的情感变量之一。近年来,中国一些学者已经对语言焦虑做了一些研究。本文主要采用概念分析法分析跨文化交际中的一个突出问题“焦虑”。本文指出导致焦虑的因素可能是学习者的个人特征,也可能是学习活动的方法或教学方法。通过分析学生在跨文化交际中的焦虑因素,本文提出一些教学策略以便减少学生在跨文化交际中的焦虑。希望本文将有助于提高学生的跨文化交际能力并且能减轻学生在外语学习中的焦虑。49933

    Abstract   Anxiety is one of the most important affective variables for English learners. In recent years, some Chinese language scholars have already done some researches on language anxiety. In this paper, concept analysis method will be used to analyze one of the typical problems in intercultural communication: anxiety. This paper points out factors which cause anxiety are the learner’s inpidual characteristics, learning activity methods or teaching methods. Through analyzing factors of student’s anxiety in cross-cultural communication, this paper puts forward some teaching strategies, which can reduce students’ anxiety in cross-cultural communication. Hopefully this paper will be beneficial to improve the students’ ability of intercultural communication and reduce students’ anxiety in foreign language learning.

    I. Introduction 

        As we enter the new century, the globalization is unstoppable. As Chinese overall national strength is improving, the exchange between international and China in economy, culture and politics is increasing. As we all know, language is a tool in communication, and English is one of the most widely used languages in the world. Under the background of globalization, modern society calls for talents with stronger ability of using foreign languages. Nowadays, having the high ability of English performing is a requirement of the modern society. The majority of students in China learn English. It is very important for us to have a good knowledge of English. The fact is that the majority of students in China are not good at listening and speaking in English, as the exam-oriented education pays more attention to reading and writing. For the most majority of Chinese students, listening and speaking skills are their short board, especially oral English ability. The process to improve oral English ability is slow and difficult. In addition to the lack of adequate practice opportunities, language anxiety in oral English learning is also a major factor restricting students’ oral English level.
