Infantile old Age in May Sarton’s Encore Abstract May Sarton is a well-known diarist, novelist and poet in America, who is especially famous for her journals. Among all her journals, Encore: A Journal of the Eightieth Year (1993) is Sarton’s famous journal about aging. In this work, Sarton still talks about a series of daily things. There are so many subjects described in the book. From all her behaviors, it is obvious to see that Sarton sometimes appears like a child consciously or unconsciously. It seems she leads an infantile old life. For example, she is longed for deciding or arranging something about her own life, even if some little issues. And she is willful and naughty. She would like to have something out of her diet and champagne. There is a deep love of nature from her bottom of heart. She always wants to prove that she is becoming better. But it’s easy to satisfy her or make her proud.51712
In this thesis the reasons of infantile old age of May Sarton are also to be discussed. I’d like to interpret this term in the following aspects: 1.he innocence is still in her and it makes her love the nature; 2.she respect the natural the; 3.to attract attention; 4. To find some inner sustenance; 5.to prove personal health and value.
And in the last part of the thesis, the conclusion and the discussion about the inportance and significance of infantile old age, would be held.

梅萨藤《返场》中关于梅萨藤还童心理的研究
摘要梅·萨藤是一位美国知名女性日记作者，小说家和诗人，因其特殊的日记体小说而闻名。在她的众多小说中，《返场》是她著名的一本日记集。在《返场》中，她详细描述了梅萨藤的日常生活。在这其中，梅萨藤描述了许多的事情。在她的一些行为中，我们可以看到她经常有意或无意中表现得像一个小孩子，她有一定的还童心理。例如，她经常希望可以自主决定或为自己的生活进行一些自己的安排，即使是一些很琐碎的小事。有时候她很淘气任性。会吃一些不应吃的东西，喜欢喝一点香槟。在她的心中，对自然有一种来自本源的热爱。她经常想要证明自己的身体越变越好，她有能力做好一些事情。但是她也很容易被满足，很容易变得骄傲。
在这篇论文中，关于老龄人还童心理的原因也会被探讨。关于这个部分我将通过以下几个方面进行阐述：1、 她始终充满童真，对自然有一种源自天性的热爱；2、她尊重身体机能的自然退化；3、她希望通过一些孩子气的行为获得关注；4、希望能够借此寻找到精神寄托可以支撑自己来对抗病魔；5、希望可以证明自己的价值和意义。
关于本论文的总结和对于还童心理重要性和必要性的讨论也将会在本论文的最后一个部分开展。
