Abstract Fitzgerald is one of the well-known novelists in the Jazz Age。 This article shapes the typical "new girl" image, and reveals the social background and the tragedies women are faced with, which illustrates Fitzgerald’s misogyny。86414

This paper can be mainly pided into three parts which includes introduction, text and conclusion。 The first Chapter introduces the writer and the literature review to him briefly。 The second Chapter is about the female image in The Great Gatsby and analysis which embodies the complex misogyny of the author in the text。 The third Chapter states the causes of Fitzgerald's feminism from social and personal aspect, including the society to which the author belongs and his own experiences that influences a lot on his female criticism。 This work reflects his complex misogyny and attitude towards the new female。

It is mainly said that The Great Gatsby is written for men, and the male narrator Nick seriously narrates the male consciousness and female criticism in the interpretation of the female characters。 Furthermore, women were forced to become the victim of man’s dominance and the image of women suffered serious distortion at the same time which also carried a lot of negative traits。 Thus Fitzgerald made a negative portrayal of female characters and patriarchal under the domination of consciousness by the perspective of Nick in a certain extent。  We can get a better interpretation of Fitzgerald's feminism through the description of female characters in the works, from the aspects such as society and personal bias against women。

摘  要通过分析菲茨杰拉德在《了不起的盖茨比》中塑造的典型“新潮女郎"，揭示了当时的时代背景下她们所经历的悲惨命运，从而来展现菲茨杰拉德强烈的厌女情结。我们通过从作品中女性人物的描写入手，拟从社会﹑个人等方面对作者女性偏见成因进行分析，更好的解读菲茨杰拉德的厌女症。

该论文主要由三部分组成，分别是简介、正文和结论。第一章主要介绍了菲茨杰拉德生平和他的作品综述，并阐释了海内外知名学者对该作品的评述及观点。第二章是关于《了不起的盖茨比》中女性形象的塑造和分析，来展示作者在当时背景时代下对女性的歧视观点。第三章从社会和个人两个方面对菲茨杰拉德的女性观成因进行分析。

菲茨杰拉德在男性zhuyi的社会中所表现出的强烈女性歧视的观点。这主要体现在作品中对女主人公形象的刻画和分析上，作者通过第三人称尼克的角度来叙述，从而展现当时时代背景下的新潮女郎。因此我们可以看出，他对于女性抱有强烈的消极态度和抵触心理。
