摘要本文对搜集来的环保类告示语进行分析,研究其语言特色,并运用言语行为理论的分析框架,微观探讨环保类告示语的语用策略。研究发现,该类告示语语言简单明了,短小易懂,多用祈使句和省略句;大量综合运用了直接和间接言语行为理论,并结合情感、礼貌原则,使得该类告示语顺应时代发展要求,达到提高受众的环保意识。68146

Title The Pragmatic Analysis of Public Signs on Environmental Protection
Abstract
This paper attempts to study the linguistic features and pragmatic strategy of the public signs on environmental protection with the Speech Act Theory. It is found that these public signs are linguistically simple, short and easy to understand, mostly in imperative and elliptical sentences. Using direct and indirect speech acts with emotional and polite principles make these public signs adapt to the current social requirements and improve people’s environmental protection consciousness.

1 Introduction
Public signs, also called social phraseology, belong to the category of social management terms. Public signs cover a wide range. All those posted in the public, aiming for providing the general people or special groups reminding or warming signs, are attributed to public signs. Public signs on environmental protection are a kind of social symbols, which are to arouse people’s environmental protection awareness and act out practical behaviors to protect environment and create harmonious ecological surroundings. This paper is intended to explore the linguistic features and pragmatic strategies of the public signs on environmental protection.
1.1 The Previous Studies on Public Signs
Social phraseology is a kind of special language phenomenon applied to the public. In the different periods, regions, nations or community crowds, perse social terms are used. Social phraseology means public language, which is widely and frequently used. We can often see various social phraseology on ads from newspaper or magazines, on signs, or on product packaging. (Zhang Xinhong, 2000). Wang (1999) holds those social phraseology covers a wide range and their essential features are very clear, which are public, utilitarian, persified, innovative and simple. By analyzing social phraseology’s basic features, it is mainly to understand their definition to some extent and to have a deeper understanding of social phraseology. (Wang Jianhua, 1999).
