This thesis covers three parts: three relations in masculinity studies, the crises of masculinity in The Weather Man and reconstruction of male identity in The Weather Man。 To be specific, first, the thesis discusses the definition and development of masculinity studies and the three kinds of relations in Connell’s theory。 The next part focuses on researching David’s masculinity crises rose by the anxiety of social identity from light of the three-part structural model of gender relations。 At last, this thesis emphasizes on how David gets over the anxiety and further solves the masculinity problems。 He presents a new self eventually。
