Though Mr。 Xu is an expert in Chinese poem translation, and his version is much more closer to the original one and also expresses the connotation of this poem, does anything there still need to be improved or further explored? The mature works are worth taking into reconsideration and reevaluation。
Chinese- English translation is a kind of cross-cultural communication。 There are not only the monotonous translation skills, but also consciousness of cross-cultures。 The contrast between these two versions in the perspective of cultural differences can improve our overall translation competence, in both formation and cultural sense。 It is not just a simple process to figure out how different they are, but to dig out why they are。 Through this study, we will learn more about translation skills and more importantly establish our sense of cross-cultural communication。 The main purpose and significance is to know how we can spread our ancient Chinese poems in foreign countries so that the west can have better understanding of Chinese culture and literature。
1。3 The Organization of the Thesis来*自~优|尔^论:文+网www.youerw.com +QQ752018766*
The thesis is pided into five parts。 The first part is the general introduction, including the background, the purpose and significance of the study, as well as the organization of the thesis。 The second chapter is related to the interpretation about Changganxing, which make a general introduction of this poem for readers, helping them to know the real meaning about the original version。 The next part is to make a contrastive study of Ezra Pound’s and Xu Yuanchong’s translations about Li Bai’s Changganxing。 In this part, the interpretation of the primitive poem is illustrated and the translations about titles, imageries and understandings about Chinese cultures in translations are the focus of this part。 Reasons for the translation differences from cultural perspective occur in the forth chapter。 They mainly include influence of historic culture on selection of Changganxing and meanings of language expressions in different cultures。
More essentially, different ways of thinking in translation about Changganxing and family status of couples in different cultures really matter in their translations。 The last part is to summarize what I have studied in my thesis。 Emphasis on the importance and purposes of the study is also necessary。
