Abstract So far, the National College Entrance Examination in China has been regarded as a standardized entrance exam for 53 years。 It has become the main standard to judge a talent, which causes that the school, the society, the family and students have to pay more attention to test scores, instead of students’ comprehensive qualities。 For most students, English is not their mother tongue。 They are compelled to perform rote tasks of vocabulary and grammar learning, in order to get high scores in the examinations。 In this way, students can’t learn the Western culture or master the native English knowledge effectively。 It is not good for students to improve their their comprehensive abilities。 In this essay, the current situation of the formative evaluation was analyzed with questionnaire。 The reasons for advocating the formative evaluation were explained。 Then, the application of formative evaluation was discussed from three aspects, they are the principles, means and methods of formative evaluation。 At last, the application in listening, speaking, reading and writing was analyzed。 75660

摘要迄今为止,在中国,高考已经作为实行以久的标准化升学考试长达53年。它已成为人才衡量和选拔的主要标准,这使得学校、社会、家庭和学生等等都更关注考试成绩,忽视了综合素质的全面发展。对于英语非母语的学生来说,要求学生通过死记硬背等机械方式掌握语法词汇,获取高分,这不利于学生在一定的语言环境下去感知英语,学习相关的文化,获取有关英语的知识,提高自身英语综合水平。本文结合调查问卷分析了目前形成性评价在中学英语教学中的现状,提出了在中学中实施形成性评价的理由,并从形成性评价的原则、工具和方法的角度探讨了形成性评价的应用,最后简要分析了形成性评价在英语听、说、读、写方面的应用。

1。 Introduction 

      Evaluation plays a key role in the curriculum。 Students, teachers or parents, judge the level of their foreign language learning ability according to students’ English test scores, ignoring the students' learning process and daily behavior。 Since summative assessment is based on students’ test scores, there is no doubt that to some extent the function of scores is strengthened。 The community, parents and students are actively or passively willing to accept academic judgment。 A considerable number of students study for the test or further studies。 Clearly, the instrumental motivation is not easy to stimulate students' enthusiasm。 On the contrary, if students don't get ideal achievement, they will become more anxiety, low self-esteem and self-blame。 Their confidence will be severely hit, and then they consider themselves not suitable to learn English。
