1。Introduction
Positive psychology is committed to the study of potential virtues and positive qualities,which focuses on the research of advantages and value of humanity。( Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi 5-14)Practice has proved that human happiness is not based on the repair and treatment of diseases。 Positive psychology emphasizes on the positive elements of one's own, and advocates to deal with own experience with peaceful mind。The inpiduals,organizations and society can get positive development through the motivation of person's quality。 The goal of positive psychology is to find and nurture talent, to make normal life more meaningful, not just the treatment of mental illness。 It appears not to replace the traditional psychology, but lays more emphasis on the use of scientific methods to explore the positive sense。 Since positive psychology attracted attention from more and more psychologists to join the research,it has gradually formed a sweeping global psychological thought。论文网
Positive psychology used in primary school English teaching can provide better ideas for the further development of educational theory。 Primary school English education is a continuous adaptation process of development。 Integrating the advanced and accelerated positive psychology theory into English teaching can not only adequate the theory of positive psychology, and may also provide a new way of thinking and vision to current problems and contradictions that exist in contemporary education。 This is a very good expansion of English education theory。
The purpose of this study is to introduce the theory of positive psychology to the classroom then effectively translate it into specific strategies for English teaching to deal with problems in current primary school English teaching。 On the one hand, this establishes the theoretical basis for the application of Positive Psychology in English teaching。 On the other hand, it can provide a new way of thinking in order to solve the current problems and contradictions in teaching then realize the dimensions of development。
Contents of this paper are mainly the following aspects:
First, I sort out the theory of positive psychology。 The thesis collates and analyzes the theory of literature and the latest results from domestic and foreign scholars in the field of positive psychology: it sorts out the history, current situation and development trend of the relevant theoretical research on this topic。 Collate and analyze the data in theory to find existing gaps in research, selecting the perspective and innovation。
Then, after analyzing the current status of primary school English teaching,I study the schema of current primary English teaching and students’ attitudes towards learning English from two dimensions of teachers and students through questionnaires and interviews, gradually understanding whether the teaching idea of new curriculum is appropriate to be reflected in English class。
Then, I will try to find the cause of problems by linking positive psychology theory with the current primary English teaching to find problems of today’s primary English teaching and figure out underlying causes of these problems according to the results of questionnaires and interviews。
