As a result, more creative and unique opinions are in urgent need in this field。 Eco-translatology, regarded as a new theory, has the possibility to undertake the work。 Eco-translatology roots in the macroscopic and holistic research of translation theory。 It is put forward officially by Professor Hu Gengshen and has received a rising concern with the aggravation of eco-environment problems。 Professor Hu considered “three-dimensional transformation” as its translation method (transformation from linguistic, cultural and communicational dimensions)。 There are an increasing number of papers concerning Eco-translatology written while few of them are concerned to the field of English film translation, let alone the film title。 Accordingly, this essay tries to analyze the translation of film titles with the principle of “three-dimensional transformation” and present some translation methods to this genre of translation。
2。 Literature Review

With the rapid development of economy and modern society, seeing movies has already become one of the most popular means of people’s daily recreation。 As an important element of film, film title accounts a lot in people’s choices of films。 There is no doubt that it is necessary to grasp the core values against different linguistic, cultural and aesthetic features during the translation process to fully realize the fundamental role played by film titles。论文网
It is generally accepted that translation studies on film title only started in the 1990s。 Our domestic studies on it started in 1990s and there are few monographs on this subject at home or abroad。 Nowadays, more and more foreign films have been released in various forms and widely accepted by Chinese people, many scholars in translation circle have engaged in the translation of movie titles from English to Chinese。
Bao Huinan analyses the importance of cultural convergence on the translation and comments on the situation of the present film title translation in China, indicating that many Chinese versions for one English film title results in puzzlement to Chinese audiences and negative impacts on the film market (Bao 52)。
